UBBC webinar “Opportunities for strategic research investment and Ukraine’s future economy”
Associate Professor of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Olena Krainiuk recently participated in the Ukrainian Strategic Research Webinar, which was dedicated to developing research and strategic partnerships in key industries in Ukraine. The event brought together representatives of universities, investors, and international organisations to discuss the prospects for developing Ukrainian education, innovation and economy.
The conference's main topics were the environment, agriculture, medicine, artificial intelligence, information security and infrastructure recovery after the war. Particular attention was paid to the role of universities in developing human capital and creating new opportunities for cooperation with international partners, particularly with UK universities.
Participation in the webinar gave Olena Krainiuk the opportunity to learn about new mechanisms for investing in research and received specific advice on how academics can effectively collaborate with industry. An important element of the discussion was the issue of attracting investments in the development of ecology and labour safety, which are key areas in her teaching activities.
Such events contribute to the active development of research projects and innovative approaches. For instance, the webinar resulted in the initiation of several collaborative research projects in the fields of environment, agriculture, and medicine. These projects aim to address pressing issues and contribute to the economic recovery and progress of Ukraine's university sector.
